On the first weekend of May I volunteered with Bristol Natural History Consortium (BNHC) for the City of Nature Challenge. This is an activity-packed weekend celebrated globally where members of the public are encouraged to download the free iNaturalist app and document the wild species in their area.
I had the pleasure of being based at Leigh Woods where I helped on the information stand, joined in on the nature walks and documented species on the app. I ended up recording about 70 unique species of flora and fauna over the weekend.
I was able to capture digging buff-tailed bumblebees, resting speckled wood butterflies, and nest-building tree-creepers on my Panasonic Lumic G80. Keep scrolling to take a look at some of the photos.
